The Beginning 2014
It started with a question.
“If you could do anything in the world, for the rest of your life, what would you do?”
I couldn't shake it. Then I thought about making whiskey—and, for the first time, the answer felt obvious.
What followed was a 5-gallon copper still, a hot pad, a few dozen mason jars and long nights in my family's Illinois barn. That pursuit eventually carried me west to Montana, searching for the grain that would give the whiskey its character.
