I was inspired by some of my favorite scotch when building this unique cask-finished spirit.
Chardonnay casks provide a subtle and distinctive blend of citrus and oak that perfectly complements Ghostwood’s rich flavors.
The result is amazing.
As part of this exploration, I learned a lot about wine creation and the aging process. This led me on an exciting journey of discovery, and I was able to choose exactly what kind of casks work best for this particular spirit.
The outcome is an unparalleled gold amber bourbon whiskey that greets the senses with a fruity aroma, underscored by oak and spices.

Ghostwood Chardonnay Cask
Bourbon, finished with a winemaker’s eye.
Ghostwood’s premium four-grain blended bourbon takes an unexpected second path through select Chardonnay casks.
The cask finish draws out fruit, oak, almond and warm spice while giving the whiskey a floral, juicy character and a subtly buttery, dry texture. It remains unmistakably bourbon—just seen through a different light.

Why Chardonnay?
The cask should reveal something—not hide what came before it.
Inspired by the depth that secondary cask finishing can bring to Scotch whisky, Ghostwood explored how a wine cask could reshape its bourbon without disguising it.
Chardonnay provided the balance: fruit and dryness, softness and structure. The result is an expression that feels refined without becoming delicate and distinctive without becoming unfamiliar.
“Fruit and oak. Almond and warm spice. A bourbon built for the edge of the firelight.”
Go Beyond the Firelight
Made for wherever the evening takes you.
Pour it neat, give it a few minutes in the glass, or serve it over one large cube. Let the fruit open first, then look for oak, almond and warm spice as the whiskey settles.
